Founded in 1908 by Thames watermen and river workers, with more than 400 members today. The club is run by its members and registered with HMRC as a Community Amateur Sports Club, which is how the fees stay low.

Tuesday is club night

With the bar open and food served from 19:00 until 21:30, Tuesday evenings see a busy clubhouse, excellent food consumed, the odd pint drunk and more than the odd telling of a sailor's tale.

Club night

Tuesday, 18:00 to 23:00

Food served 19:00 to 21:30.

The Membership Secretary is at the desk at the top of the stairs on club night.

Sunday: 12:00 to 19:00

The closing times shown are not last order times: these are the times that members can expect to be asked to leave and the clubhouse locked.

Third Thursday of the month, 18:30

The club is run by volunteers. Members are expected to muck in, and the application process asks you to show that you will.

Nestled between the O2 Arena and the Thames Barrier on a wide stretch of the Thames, the views are at times breathtaking and it is hard to imagine that you are so close to the centre of London.

You do not need a boat

Come along on a Tuesday, take part in a work party and a water activity, have an informal chat with two members, and the committee approves your application.

Full membership £300 a year plus a £89 joining fee, pro rata for the rest of the year once approved.
