We are delighted to introduce you to The Greenwich Yacht Club. GYC is London's hidden riverside gem located next to the O2. Two event spaces for hire throughout the year for 20 to 200 guests: weddings, private events, parties, meetings and conferences.

One in the river, one beside it

The Clubhouse stands on its piles in the Thames. The River Rooms is the purpose built event venue on the wharf, with its own decking. Hire one, or for a wedding, both.

The Clubhouse

Without doubt the most striking of our two venues, it appears to be a two storey building sitting on stilts in the middle of the river. Accessible by bridge (or boat), with floor to ceiling windows, the panoramic views are something to behold.

The River Rooms

Parties from £1,750 + VAT

A stand-alone event venue with large windows, two rooms and a large outdoor decking. Guests enter onto the decking, which overlooks the river and the boatyard and is a great place to have your reception drinks in the afternoon sun.

Exclusive use from 9am until close. The River Rooms is licensed for civil ceremonies.

Founded 1908, on the wharf since 1999

Founded in 1908, Greenwich Yacht Club only arrived at its new home on Peartree Wharf in 1999. The club now has its own pontoon, which can take large boats to and from the city, and two venues suitable for a wide variety of events.

Whilst it remains primarily a sailing club, the club's activities have diversified into rowing, cycling and art.

For more than 10 years the club's events have been run by The Willo Project's team, and have hosted many weddings, celebrations and conferences, not to mention open-air cinemas, concerts and whisky launches.

Nestled between the O2 Arena and the incredible Thames Barrier on a wide stretch of the Thames, the views are at times breathtaking and it is hard to imagine that you are so close to the centre of London.

Hold the date
A £500 deposit confirms your date and comes off the balance. The balance and a £750 damage deposit are due 7 days before, and the damage deposit comes back after the event.

Members
Members of at least a year can hire the Clubhouse at £70 per hour plus staff. The terms are on the members page.
